[ Description ]
Daa-Noodin, "it's going to be windy," pictures a future where the land reclaims the city. A young person in a ribbon skirt stands in tall grass beneath a highway overpass, and the wind moves through her. Lush green fills the space between concrete pillars marked with pictographs, and the wind's voice is the movement of the grass and the turbulent sound under the road.
The work exists as an animation, a large-format print on aluminum and an AR piece that plays the animation over the print. In the Hyper Woodland edition, glassy Woodland forms swirl through the scene like weather.
Is this the fate of our sacred places? The question stays open.
